NGC and PMG Announce New Munich Submission Guidelines

Posted on 1/25/2021

Plan your trips to the Munich office around NGC GmbH’s new submission schedule.

NGC International GmbH (NGC GmbH), the German affiliate of Numismatic Guaranty Corporation™ (NGC®), Numismatic Conservation Services™ (NCS®) and Paper Money Guaranty™ (PMG®), has announced new submission guidelines that will simplify and streamline the grading process for its customers.

With the updated submission process, customer submissions will be shipped from the Munich office to NGC, NCS and PMG in the USA on a weekly basis, resulting in faster and more frequent shipments. Submitters will also enjoy a more predictable submission schedule that allows them to plan their trips to Munich to both drop-off and pick-up collectibles. An appointment is required to drop-off and pick-up at NGC GmbH’s Munich office.

The turnaround time for all Munich submissions will be 7 weeks (including roundtrip shipping), starting from the first Monday when the collectibles are submitted to NGC GmbH and ending when the completed collectibles are ready at NGC GmbH. For example, if a submission is made to the Munich office on Monday, March 1, it can be expected back in Munich by Monday, April 19.

Collectibles can be submitted to the Munich office Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Submissions received mid-week will be shipped the following Monday. For example, for a submission made to NGC GmbH on Wednesday, March 3, the 7-week turnaround time will begin on Monday, March 8. The submission can be expected back in Munich by Monday, April 26.

The 7-week turnaround time applies to all coins and paper money, including ancient coins and NCS conservation submissions. NGC GmbH and its affiliates will use their best efforts to complete all submissions within the 7-week timeframe, but due to various factors, including international shipping and customs clearance, turnaround times unfortunately cannot be guaranteed. Note: Incomplete submission forms will result in a delay in processing. Please fill out the form in its entirety.

All submissions* to NGC GmbH will be shipped to NGC, NCS and PMG’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, USA with insurance coverage based on the submitter’s declared values. Once certification is completed, the submissions will be shipped back to NGC GmbH’s Munich office, again with insurance coverage, to be returned to the submitter. Shipping, insurance and customs clearance between NGC GmbH and the US headquarters are included in NGC GmbH’s services fees.
